Two more dinners and counting!
This is truly exciting!
Maya Kaimal of Maya Kaimal Fine Indian Foods will be joining our Guest Chef series and she will be doing her dinner here most probably in March 2011. She will be in India to soak up more culture and cuisine in Jan/Feb 2011 so by March she will be brimming with more ideas and dishes to share with us.

Maya is the author of two excellent cookbooks:
Savoring the Spice Coast of India and Curried Favors.
Haegeen Kim, our fine and talented Korean chef at Purple Yam will do a dinner celebrating her mother’s home cooking. She is headed home to Seoul in a couple of weeks to visit family and to savor her mom’s home cooking again. Haegeen is responsible for our freshly made kimchis, bibimbap, Korean meatballs, pa jun and jap chae in our menu.
Possible cooking class with Haegeen:
Please email me at acbesa@prodigy.net if you are interested in a kimchi session with Haegeen here at Purple Yam on a Friday morning from 11 am – 3 pm. She will teach how to make 3 types of himchi and then how to make a kimchi pa jun (pancake). After the class, we will all sit down and have a great lunch of Haegeen’s vegetable soup, kimchi, pa jun and a Korean dessert.
